Hello! Salam!
Love, Zoy & Uz x
Our Origin
Pillars London began with two sisters, a shared love for creativity, and a simple question: why don’t Islamic celebrations get the same build-up, excitement, and beautiful details we see elsewhere?
Growing up in the UK, we were lucky to be surrounded by many cultures and religions, each celebrating their festivals in their own vibrant way. From festive shop displays to seasonal stationery and decorations, we watched our friends eagerly count down to their holidays. There was excitement in the air, beautifully wrapped gifts under trees, and an entire world built around celebrating the moment.
As Muslims, our celebrations were just as meaningful, but often quieter, less visible, and harder to find thoughtfully designed products for. One day, while out shopping and surrounded by endless Christmas stationery, wrapping paper, and décor, it really hit us: why shouldn’t Islamic celebrations feel just as special, joyful, and exciting?
That moment planted the seed for Pillars London.
The Designs
We wanted to create a brand that celebrates the beauty of Islam in a way that feels fun, modern, and joyful while remaining respectful, tasteful, and true to the religion. Our goal was never to dilute Islamic identity, but to embrace it proudly. Every design is created with intention, care, and an understanding of the religious significance behind each celebration.
Details Matter
We believe that presentation matters. And when something feels special, it helps build excitement, especially for children and the next generation. We wanted to help create memories around Islamic holidays that feel just as magical and eagerly anticipated as any other celebration.
Pillars London officially began in 2024, in the humblest way possible: doodles on PowerPoint, late nights learning design tools from scratch, and a lot of trial and error! We taught ourselves how to turn ideas into meaningful designs, constantly asking ourselves one key question: Is this respectful to Islam, and would we buy this ourselves?
Every piece we create is carefully thought through - not just for how it looks, but for what it represents. We take inspiration from Islamic architecture, symbolism, and tradition, and reimagine them in a contemporary way that feels relevant today.
Our Hope
Our hope is that Pillars London helps Muslim families feel proud of their identity, excited to celebrate their religious holidays, and inspired to pass that joy on to future generations. We also want our non-Muslim friends to gift feeling assured they are celebrating the moment with care and respect. Whether it’s through gifting, decorating, or simply marking the moment, we want Islamic celebrations to feel beautiful, meaningful, and full of anticipation.
